Course Description

This course introduces the student to fundamental roles of the Massachusetts legal system, with emphasis on Probate, Family and Juvenile Courts. Topics will include child abuse and neglect, guardianship, child custody, divorce, domestic violence and adoption. Additional topics relate to contracts, consumer, victim, employee and welfare rights, health care proxies, special education law and parent advocacy. Prerequisite: Eligibility for ENG111

Course Section Description

Hybrid Session starts 6-18-2022 ends 8-13-2022. Face-to-face online meetings during published meeting times. Online asynchronous learning via Google Classroom complements live meetings (https://classroom.google.com/). Students will receive an access code to connect starting on the first day of class.
